Finally. he discusses the conditions that must prevail to sustain each of these "spirits."Unlike his contemporary Rousseau, an ivory tower theorist, Montesquieu traveled extensively and lived in the various countries with their different forms of government. His conclusions are based, therefore, on empirically gathered data. His book is the most frequently cited work by the Founders and by the authors of the Federalist papers.He cites the republican form of government as the most free, but which must be sustained by the spirit emanating from an educated populous. Other forms of government can be sustained by natural, base instincts or spirits existing within the populous such as fear or greed which require no education.

Montesquieu's fascinating portrait of the radically different social, cultural, political and religious viewpoints and perspectives between Muslim travellers from the Eastern, Islamic influenced cultures of the old Persian Empire versus the very different values espoused by the young, emerging European nation-states of Western Europe rooted in the divergence of Roman Catholicism, Protestantism and the Humanist movement of the European Enlightenment. Very interesting comparison and contrast between socio-political, economic and political contrasts between these two starkly different cultures as narrated by a variety of characters and set in the early 18th century.

I purchased this very important book as an MP3 audiobook and I can honestly say that on such an important book as this the choice of Wanda McCaddon to narrate this book was a very big mistake. I am not alone in my views when I say that this woman has been the most difficult narrator I have ever had to listen to. Her voice is whining, irritating and penetrating and I was astonished to read that she has narrated well over six hundred titles for major book audio publishers.I so wish to continue listening to this MP3 audiobook, but the narrator is making it extremely difficult for me to achieve this, more than five minutes at a time make this listening project very painful.Tragically this set contains two MP3's which means one has to listen to this terrible narrator for at least 22 and half hours. I contacted Blackstone audio with regards to this issue, advising them to listen and at least provide their opinion, but I have had no response. Guess they do not care. It would have been much better read by a man, or anybody other than Wanda.Very disappointing. Wanda obviously can pronounce the most difficult of names easily but her narration sends one into insanity.

great book but disliked the format, too small therefore thick. Opted to give it away and have ordered the Cambridge edition.

I hadn't realized that this was a fascimile of the original (not sure if that was posted or not).Regardless, this is a beautiful book and the old English print is a something that takes some time to get used to, but well worth it in the end. Seems more original and "pure" without some academic bloviating with his introduction.

Montesquieu give a decent view of the law that many of the founding fathers would have been familiar with. Therefore, I find it to be good reference material.

Update: I passed my test on the first try. I ended up going through this book about four times total as part of my own study method. I would not solely rely on this book for studying. The other CySA+ books are more detailed and better organized in my opinion.Previous: Iâ€™ve read this book once so far, but will end up reading it another two times before my test. Itâ€™s probably the shortest of the three books available for the CSA+ right now. It gets into each objective and moves on pretty quick. I would say itâ€™s a decent book. It is a great complement for the other books for explaining topics the others may not have explained as well.

I have copies of the other two CSA+ books on the market and I think this one is organized in the most logical and concise manner. The way the authors explain each topic really helps you understand the material as you go along. I took the CSA+ test last week and passed the exam, mainly with the help of this book and the Transcender practice tests. The only thing I wish the book would have touched on more was how to read various kinds of logs, but CompTIA expects test candidates to already have several years of experience. When you take a CompTIA exam the answers aren't easy to find, you have to do a process of elimination, but the material in this book helps you to understand the material enough to eliminate the incorrect answers.

I just took the CSA+ exam and passed by a comfortable margin. I have worked at a firewall company for the last 2+ years so I deal with a lot of the material covered everyday. That being said I only used this book and it's practice exams as my study material. While the book might seem lite at first it does go over all aspects of the exam. As other reviewers have pointed out it does not go into great detail on how to read logs and scans. The book so far is good, like half of the book have already read.Not very deep in concepts but the lecture is easy and not boring or dense, i think the coverage so far is good and very similar to other materials. I already saw a couple of times the videos from PluralSight of CSA+ and the coverage is very similar in content and analysis.Haven't try yet the practice exams that come with it in the CD, but the book all in all seems to be good study material.As always try to not have only one source of study material for this or any other certification, combine and search for more even if is not oriented to the certification will work for it, for example Wireshark tutorials, videos, Snort documentation, Nmap books, etc pretty much all is free over internet and youtube.

I passed my test on May 11, 2018 using only this book and accompanying CD. I agree with the other reviewers as long as you understand the topics you will be find and can do process of elimination, you can get rid of two questions off the bat but then you may have to reread a question multiple times to understand what it really asking you.

I havenâ€™t started reading it yet as it only arrived yesterday, and my review may change as I get into the contents of the book, but for now I wanted to give it 5 stars for the simple fact that the included ebook on the companion CD works great with my kindle. Physical and ebook. Win win.

The author is well known for CISSP certification books. I would not use this book as the "only" study material for the test, but for an initial beginning study for the exam to "get your feet wet" while looking at other practice tests and live labs. This is again great for the initial learning of the terms and definitions.. trust me when I say that the exam is "not easy" ! Good Luck to all.

I LOVED this book! this is the definition of a perfect wedding planner! Jessica goes into so much detail that to just say she covers everything is an understatement. She covers everything plus some and then plus some more! The inspiration, savvy tips, ways to save, what do ask when choosing... pages along with the checklists, worksheets, budgets, timelines it's all really brilliant how she has added so much into this one book! If you have been putting off your wedding due to the high stress of planning one, purchase this book and you'll have no need to worry or stress Jessica has included everything you would or even could ever need to plan your perfect budget savvy wedding!!

This planner has been a lifesaver!! I did not grow up imagining my wedding day or knowing even remotely what I wanted it to look like, so purchasing this book was my cry for help. Budget-wise, I haven't followed the book's financial advise too closely, more loosely by just keeping my budget concerns in mind.Where this book is worth its weight in gold for me is the lists, the posed questions of what if's, and all the information pointing out planning items I would never have known to address. For example, in the chapter addressing picking vendors, the author provided a list of questions to ask each vendor and then provided advice for the possible answers each question might receive. This formula is repeated with every planning section and helped me feel a LOT more confident and secure with my decisions. Even if I didn't choose to ask a vendor every single question the author provides, I still felt confident knowing I was equipped to know if I was receiving good service from each vendor.Additionally, the author provides checklists for both one-year and six-month wedding planning timelines (my personally planning is only six months, so this was especially useful for me!). Within both timelines is a broken-out countdown list numbered by each month left until the wedding, including up to one week before the wedding itself. Again, such a lifesaver!Overall, I recommend this book for brides/grooms who need realistic, creative thinking to keep wedding spending in check or, like me, need a simple, straight-forward guide to navigate wedding norms.

Great book with a TON of information. I loved the fact that it isn't all printed in black and white... there are photo, colored graphs and color accents to help get your attention. It's a well designed book. The checklists and the helpful ideas are going to be so useful. I am planning a wedding and we're not hiring a wedding planner... so I need all the help I can get!

Excellent!!! I'm getting married this July 21, 2018, so it was perfect timing that this book was just published. I've read the entire book and I'm saving lots of money and time in following many of the tips and recommendations. There are options to do a deluxe, expensive wedding, if you want to go that route. Highly recommended for both budget through deluxe weddings!!!
