I had the ARC but bought the book. I actually had read the novella version in Begging for Bad Boys but this longer, fleshed out version is so much better. You get so much more involved with the complex, complicated characters of Brendon and Kaylee. They are both broken and even though Brendon is 8 years older, he still hasn't resolved the feelings his mother put in him by calling him worthless so often. After his parents died and he became guardian of his younger sister, a de facto parent, he began to understand a little about his mother but he swore he would never stifle or force Emma into a particular way of thinking or being as his mother tried to do with him. Kaylee is Emma's best friend and been around forever. She's been in love with Benson for a long time but of course he sees her as a child, or so she thinks. He does, until her 18th birthday. Then real turmoil develops in Brendon's head. He wants Kaylee but he thinks she's too sweet and innocent for his more erotic tastes. Then she peeks at his sketchbook and sees his drawings of her. And she's turned on. When she finally lets him know she's seen his book, he's angry because the book was personal, but intrigued that she's interested and doesn't think he's perverted. Now what??? There's no barrier except what he puts up; she wants him too, just like he is. Will they get together? Will they tell Emma? Through the whole book Kaylee is dealing with the illness.of her dear grandmother across the country and she believes her parents are keeping the severity from her. Plus Kaylee is also dealing with her own depression which she thinks makes her unlovable. So many obstacles for these characters. Will they ever get to or should they ever get to their HEA?

*** 3.5 stars ***Before I start I would like to say that I appreciate that this author took on such a huge topic that many refuse to talk about. Hell most people don't even what to acknowledge that mental illness exist much less talk about it. As a suffer of mental illness I appreciate the author bringing this topic to some form of light. People can't see the symptoms of mental illness so therefore they don't believe it exists. An invisible illness. Thanks so much for broaching it.That being said I enjoyed this book. The reason for my four star rating is because I thought the word cu** was used far too much. I mean come on there are other words that can be used. I mean cu** is fine at times just not all the freaking time. It literally was the only word used. I think that Brendon and Kaylee could have been an explosive couple but there was just something lacking. Maybe because Kaylee was so naive and Brendon was a bit of a coward. He did everything he could to not be with Kaylee while she just kept hanging onto anything he gave her. I was so over him by the time they finally got together. Kaylee was a extremely young and untouched and just hopped into the whole BDSM thing like she had always been doing it. I was not expecting this book to be about BDSM in the bedroom. I don't normally prefer it - but Kaylee knew next to nothing and it wasn't really believable. As much as I am grateful to the author for bringing mental illness into the spotlight I feel that the way Kaylee's was approached and played out was a bit unrealistic. I literally live with mine everyday and it's just not the way the author described it. The side characters were good and added a lot to the story. However the book was slow to get going and even then it was still slow at times. I almost didn't finish it because it just kept going and going without much happening. This book was good but it had the potential to be so much more. Which is always disappointing. I liked it enough that I will eventually check out the other books in this series.

I liked Tempting better than Dangerous Kiss, which was included when I downloaded. Brendon and Kaylee had great chemistry, and each had to fight against themselves at times to make it work. I could relate to what Kaylee was grappling with, feeling broken and fighting depression. Dangerous Kiss was too repetitious for me. I had to force myself to finish the story. Ethan and Vi are okay characters, but they deserved to be miserable at times because they brought it on themselves.Overall, both stories need some light proofreading. It is annoying and interrupts the story. The first couple it's easy to overlook, but more than that is frustrating. Some examples: "chocking" when it should be choking, "titled" when it should be tilted, no punctuation at the end of a sentence, "You're got this, Vi" when it should be You've, and etc.

As always, I loved this story by Crystal Kaswell. This is the story of an older brother who is in "lust" with his younger sister's best friend. Brendon is a caring, protective older brother who has guardianship over his sister since their parents died. He struggles with his desire for Kaylee and his feelings that he is not "good enough" for her. The two are forced into close quarters and their relationship and feelings can no longer be denied. This was a wonderfully developed story with in depth/slightly damanaged characters and a HEA. Highly recommend this read! "I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review."

It took me a long time to finish this book. I felt bored alot of the time. There were alot of almost pointless conversations that got boring quickly. Also, the style of writing is weird to me. Alot of repetitive phrases and words. And I mean repetitive! It didnt flow to me like it should have. The plot was kinda boring and of course had to be drawn out to try to make readers think it's interesting. I felt like an adolescent wrote this book. Totally not worth the 4 bucks. There just isnt much to offer with this book. I expected alot more. It was a shallow read with not so interesting characters. The most interesting parts are the sex scenes, which still arent that great.
