Osho has always put things in beautiful perspective for me. This book is nothing short of this, it goes into our cultural paradigm that gives sex a negative association and how that affects our behaviors. The book came in brand new condition. Its not heavy so it is convenient to bring with for a thoughtful read to question our mundane life views. My friend had the newer version of this book, which was shorter and larger print and quicker of a read. I enjoyed this version more because it has enough content to get see how Osho expands in different topics which was very insightful.

Take your sex-life to the next level. A spiritual connection in sex makes an exponential difference. It is well-written, does not come off as preachy, or too "woo-woo." Truly mind-blowing... in more ways than one!

We have to think over about this book.Sometimes easy to understand but not easy to digest.A completely different approach .

I'm only 3/4 of the way through the book, so take this with a grain of salt, but I really, really, LOVE this book. I mean, it's everything I've been looking for-and more. Osho explains things so simply. It's kind of like a how-to for sexual superconsciousness. Unlike one reviewer mentioned, he doesn't actually talk about sex not mattering. It's more of him saying that once you get to a certain point, you can achieve the same feeling as orgasm, without actually having sex.I'm almost done with it, but figured I had read enough to know that I love this book, and can't wait to purchase more of his works.

This should be mandatory reading for all ages- Young adults onwards.

Wonderful work! It made me review Gatsby yet again. While I disagree with some of her conclusions (Welcome to America! I like the Catholic school's assesment, being a Catholic schoolteacher myself), I found her insights into Fitzgerald's life and its effect upon his reading to be enjoyable and insightful. Very glad I purchased this! I will use it many times in the future while teaching my students.

Now I must read The Great Gatsby again, more than once if Maureen Corrigan is to be believed. And she does make a compelling case. Is it the perfect, best ever novel? I liked it a lot the twice I read it, but did not rate it that highly. However this is one of Corrigan's major points: no one appreciates it fully on first or even second reading. The very beauty and accessibility of Fitzgeralds prose can fill the reader's vision, excluding attention to the structural elements and layers of symbolism that Corrigan so elegantly lays out.

As an English teacher and as a long-time fan of Fitzgerald, I enjoyed and appreciated both Corrigan's very accessible scholarship/criticism and her more personal observations and experiences. What was presented and considered was sometimes new and exciting to me (such as Sylvia Plath's copy of Gatsby at the University of South Carolina), some was old----facts that any Fitz fan would already know (such as her mention of the "Gatsby cluster") and people in the author's life with whom we are all familiar: Max Perkins, Edmund Wilson, Ring Lardner, Sheila Graham and "frenemy" Ernest Hemingway. And I am not nearly so surprised as Corrigan about the absence of Fitzgerald's literary canon on many college and university syllabi. James Joyce and William Faulkner and Herman Melville still get their own seminar courses because they were, in my opinion, better and deeper writers. How can one compare The Great Gatsby to Ulysses, The Sound and the Fury and Moby-Dick? Beyond this, I found myself in alignment with much of what Corrigan said.I'll have to admit, though, that I was initially put off by Corrigan's intrusiveness (in the form of her own little journeys as a "literary voyeur." I felt like skipping pages of the book here and there. She continually inserts herself into the text and discusses her trips to the Library of Congress and to her old high school in Queens, and she tells us of her having lunch with some people who are of little interest to us. And yet, ultimately, this is what I most appreciated by the time I was finished with her book----which is neither literary criticism in the traditional sense nor autobiography/essay. Let's face it, we all get tired of the same approach to Fitzgerald. We get tired of the same repeated facts about the author's life, his work and his marriage to Zelda. I liked Corrigan's book because it's so personal and because it so lovingly appreciates what Fitzgerald tried so valiantly to be and to become---and because it reveals a love of the English language that all English teachers carry with them---a deep appreciation of the written (and spoken) word, including the way Fitzgerald appreciated it, working and re-working his text tirelessly and painstakingly. Corrigan is absolutely right: some of us will never fail to be profoundly impacted by the phrases and images of The Great Gatsby---yes, and those final five pages!Not to mention some of the responses to the novel that every English teacher has probably heard, including the one about Gatsby being a stalker!In short, this is not a difficult read. It's not complicated or complex or even very deep. But it is very informative and entertaining---and its heart is definitely in the right place. Corrigan certainly admires the novel's beauty and its lyricism, but she does not neglect the very important core idea that the book is really about the reality of class in America---and that it condemns---not celebrates--- mass consumerism.

What are best about the book are the author's authentic and moderately humorous voice and her unstoppable enthusiasm for her subject. Add to that a well-honed literary style, a zest for a good story, and a fascinating set of historical facts about one of America's favorite books, and it is hard to miss. I was so enthusiastic about it that I made an effort to meet the author and tell her this in person.

My book group read this in conjunction with The Great Gatsby. Corrigan's enthusiasm for her topic comes across the pages, leading me to imagine that she is a wonderful lecturer. The numerous details, history, and explanations of TGG enrich and enlighten readers of TGG. I would recommend this book to anyone reading TGG. However, Corrigan failed to convince myself or my friends that TGG is deserving of its acclaim. Clearly, she is a Gatsby groupie but her enthusiasm remains puzzling.

Fascinated as I am by all things Gatsby, Maureen Corrigan's SO WE READ ON was a captivating, insightful and promissory read for the first four of its six chapters. And then something happened in the final two chapters that ground the wonderful read to a virtual standstill. One could liken the first four chapters of the book to the Titanic - reading them was like taking a voluptuous voyage - and then the final chapters become tantamount to the collision with the iceberg. The voyage into the world of Fitzgerald and his masterpiece virtually end and give way, instead, to endless minutiae about the authoress' old schools and teachers and the history of the Armed Services Editions and needless details of her and Abby's adventures in the Library of Congress and then there is a laundry list of books and sources no more thrilling to wade through than the list of revelers and party-guests detailed in the most skipped-over passage in Fitzgerald's THE GREAT GATSBY. It is tragic, this sudden halt to the pleasurable proceedings. SO WE READ ON is a very good book that, sadly, doesn't make it to its final destination.I said earlier that the book was a promissory read. But just as Gatsby's dream did not come to fruition in the end, so to did a number of topics Maureen Corrigan hinted at in her text fail to materialize. Many times mentioned are the Gatsby films and a Gatsby ballet. But other than some detail with regards to the Alan Ladd version, nothing of substance whatsoever is developed regarding the Redford and DiCaprio versions - and there's not even a whisper about the 2000 A&E version. The wonder of it all is...why is there no discussion of any substance with regards to the cinematic Gatsby? The movies - most assuredly the Redford and DiCaprio versions - have had a powerful impact on the endurance of THE GREAT GATSBY. Just as the novel has had a great impact on cinema as well. One example, not mentioned in this book, would be Gatsby's 'green light' which surely shed some of its illumination on Charles Foster Kane's Rosebud. So given that "Why It Endures" is part of this book's subtitle, I'd much rather have read some analysis from Maureen Corrigan as to how film adds to that endurance rather than, for example, the overly detailed history of the ASE. Likewise with the often-mentioned but never discussed ballet. I really did not want to have to google it - but since, for whatever reason, nothing of it was to be found in this book, I did, indeed, resort to google.SO WE READ ON is definitely a rewarding and worthwhile read. But be forewarned: iceberg ahead! "So we beat on..."

far too little examples, only lists with scripts.should be more, far more instructive with examples

I work with and have been teaching Grasshopper for a number of years now. I was looking for a good book for my students to use. So when I found out IP was printing this title, I got just a little excited. I received my copy today, and my hopes were dashed. Here's why.I had a friend who was a missionary. He decided to write a book on being a missionary. The front half of the book was good, practical advice. The second half of the book was (and I am serious) the addresses to every embassy of every country we have relations with, just in case you wanted to write them about getting visas, etc. It bloated the book by 50%, was information that changed frequently, and it was information that was readily available on the Internet.This is the same I case I ran into with this title. The first half of the book is good. A range of practical examples that you can copy and play with. Those who are starting in Grasshopper would find this stuff useful and easy to learn from through adaptation. I think the author made a GREAT start and could have expanded from basic examples into even more intermediate and even more advanced examples. That, to me, would have made this THE Grasshopper book to have. And I still think it could be with some retooling!However, the second half is a listing of every single Grasshopper component and the inputs and outputs of each. In other words, stuff you can already see in the Grasshopper interface by positioning your mouse over each of the ports. The listing really doesn't do give much more information than that. So, yeah, disappointed.And in all fairness to the author, I get a sneaking feeling IP may have told him his original manuscript needed more and maybe even suggested doing this. Embassy addresses change and need updating. The book goes out of date very quickly. The difference here is that the front half of the book gives algorithmic ideas that will basically stand from version to version of Grasshopper. The back half is a reference that will certainly see a lot of changes over time - and thus give IP a reason to publish a second and third edition. So, not sure we can fault the author on that.I still think this title has promise, it just needs to dump the printed version of the component index and give more examples and ideas, that's all.Can I suggest for those looking for print material: Consider Arturo Tedeschi's title "Algorithms Aided Design" This is a meaty, timeless, well-illustrated title that will give you a lot of thinking points and bring you back again and again.

I do not agree with the reviews. It is a very good beginner's reference to Grasshopper. There are lots of free materials and more advanced books that have very small image, and you should get them too. But I find having a printed book on my shelf is a wonderful resource. The functionality of Grasshopper between these all these platforms are practically identical. Maybe this should be named like "Introduction to Grasshopper" and that would set manage the expectations better. All in all - I am happy to have this as a reference.

About the Author

Larry J. Siegel was born in the Bronx in 1947. While living on Jerome Avenue and attending City College of New York (CCNY) in the 1960s, he was swept up in the social and political currents of the time. He became intrigued with the influence contemporary culture had on individual behavior: Did people shape society, or did society shape people? He applied his interest in social forces and human behavior to the study of crime and justice. After graduating from CCNY, he attended the newly opened program in criminal justice at the State University of New York at Albany, earning both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees there. After completing his graduate work, Dr. Siegel began his teaching career at Northeastern University and has also held teaching positions at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, and in the School of Criminology and Justice Studies at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UML). Now a Professor Emeritus, he continues to teach courses on criminology and criminal justice in UML'S online master's degree program. Dr. Siegel has written extensively in the area of crime and justice, including books on juvenile law, delinquency, criminology, corrections, criminal justice, and criminal procedure. He is a court-certified expert on police conduct and has testified in numerous legal cases.

This textbook came in perfect condition. It was essential for passing for the year, the material is well written and I definitely would recommend to a friend. The material was easy to understand if you read the book. The book does a decent job with describing the concepts in the class. I passed the class with this book, the professor literally read straight out of the book for every lecture... so i read the book instead of going to class. The book is soft covered and was nice and bright. it came in great condition for being a used book and I am very happy with the book. If i needed to take the course again I would buy the textbook. If you ever have to take intro to criminal justice buy this book! If you're interested in intro to criminal justice buy this book! Or just buy the book just because. I would really encourage you to get this book though. It is an easy read and i am very pleased with the quality of the text book. The book was really nice and I do not regret purchasing it. The only thing I wish this book was is cheaper. The cheaper the textbook the better haha. Amazon definitely had the cheaper price compared to other places and the sell back price was decent. I would really encourage you to buy this book for class, you will not regret it and you should do well in the course if you actually do the work! I finished the course with a B, if i would have went to class... the grade would have been higher. I recommend buying the book, reading the book and going to class.

Really good series

Largely focused on the opening set against Inarizaki, v28 is just as exciting as many of the previous volumes. The volume immediately differentiates itself from that of games against Shiratorizawa and Aoba Johsai making for a wonderful change for Haikyuu!!At nearly 30 volumes, it is commendable that Haikyuu!! continues to be pleasant and exciting. The sports formula, usually forced to give characters super powers to keep the series from getting stale, is subverted here. While teams are largely centered around a specialty, it isn’t something that is just a gimmick to make things exciting without logic. Part of the charm of Haikyuu, since it avoids that, is every time always feels like they have a chance to win when they play against Karasuno, and Karasuno, equally does as well. We know what Karasuno’s weapons are, and they aren’t infallible, and the teams they play against, aren’t ever infallible too. Even though Karasuno is playing against a powerhouse like Inarizaki, there’s been nothing to show that they are so out of reach and impossible to play that Karasuno would be crushed immediately. Even in this volume and the start of the set, Inarizaki can be scored against, and they can be stunned as well.So I have hopes that the Inarizaki arc will be exciting. The Miyu’s are pretty fun characters, Aran seems like he could be a “Daichi tier” hidden weapon, and Suna already gives me some vibes that Akaashi gave me in the past.There’s lots of funny panels in the volume, numerous YamaHina ones, TsukiHina ones (my fav), and then one Hinata one in particular is unforgettable (let’s just say it involves a fantasy from Hinata about Kageyama).Bonus included, Haikyuu!! support staff profiles, another omake featuring an Ennoshita Chikara movie poster, and the usual data cards, and sketches in between chapters.
