I basically give all these Garfield 3-packs the same rating-- First, it's a really good deal to buy the books this way price-wise. Second, Garfield really inspired my 8 year old son to learn to read a few years ago, and he reads and re-reads these books over and over. Unlike some comic books or made-for-kids books (I'm thinking of things like the comic sections of Captain Underpants), there are no spelling errors or weird slang he won't understand-- Nothing too violent or off-color-- Just Garfield. I can let him read it without worrying about it, and Garfield has become an old friend.

we have many volumes, but for some reason volume 4 falls apart. Tried two books and both had to be tossed.

I used to read garfield all the time when I was little, I had an old copy from my elementary days in my classroom. One day a kid picked it up and could NOT stop laughing. I had to buy more to keep my class under control. They are great for getting some stubborn boys to read :)

My 8 and 11 yr old fought over who was going to get their little grubby hands on this book first... What can I say.... GARFIELD NEVER fails... The vocabulary and not to mention the sarcasm my kiddos have learned from years of reading Garfield.... Priceless.

What a great value!!! My son LOVES reading the funny pages in the paper. I found these and some foxtrot ones for him for his birthday and he hardly puts them down! Great value! Perfect for any funny pages fan my son has gotten HOURS out of this book. He has read and re read over and over will buy more volumes of these for christmas!

My son is not the most "into school" kid-- and he was really struggling in reading-- Was even in Reading Recovery in first grade (last year) for awhile-- And then he discovered Garfield comic books at the library and fell in love with them!-- and he just tested in the 78percentile (meaning, he reads better than 78 percent of kids in our district for his grade)! He LOVES these books and I've bought him a few of these 3-pack books on Amazon (way cheaper than anywhere else!) as gifts for him, just to say "Good job, keep going!" Really, for how thick and colorful the book is-- this is really a nice price. While they (all the Garfield 3-pack books-- which there are many!) are generally paperback, it's a nice sturdy binding and, unlike some of the other books that kids his age tend to be attracted to, I know the words are spelled correctly, the grammar isn't funky-- and there is nothing too racy in it! I say if you can find something that gets your kid reading that meet those criteria-- GRAB IT!

This book, and other Garfield books, are a great step for kids who have grown out of phonics books but are too intimidated to try chapter books. There's not too many words on each page and each page has pictures to provide contextual clues to more difficult words. However, these aren't "babyish" so older kids love to read these as well. Garfield books help my son actual enjoy silent reading time. I love the value of these 3-packs as well.

My 7 year old daughter loves these Garfield Fat Cat 3-packs. She has been spending at least an hour each evening soaking in the lasagna loving cat comics. One item to note is that pack #10, 11 and 12 are slightly less tall books and are in black and white. The others have been in color.

I love reading a passage every day. The only thing is, sometimes there are references to people I've never heard of and probably never will. Nevertheless, it is beautiful poetry that softens your heart and makes you think. If you love love, this book will add to your life. It makes a great gift.

I have now completed my year with Rumi. I must confess I read him every six out of seven days. Some days were elegant. Some days were so poignant I copied the poem and hung it on my bathroom mirror. Some were so thought provoking I journaled on them in deep thought. Some were head scratchers and I have no idea what he was writing about. It was good for my soul. It was also good to see that not everything Rumi wrote spoke to my soul. I had placed him on a pedestal and while he is still up there, I now have a healthier view of him. This was a good exercise and I may repeat it again in 2019.

I love RUMI - have been looking for something like this, a bit of inspiration every day. There is a wonderful introduction - The Love Religion, Wild Soulbooks, and What Is - that puts the book into context. This is a great companion book to keep nearby - I keep mine by the bed, so I can read a poem before getting started in the morning. it's a great way to start the day!

The daily poems are terrific. SO pleased with the selections after two weeks of daily readings. Coleman Barks is as good an authority as there is. The hardback binding is good. The only puzzlement is the paper ... practically newsprint, which seems a contradiction for the jewel of the writings. But maybe even that is a Rumi message - don't fuss over superficial things?

This is one of my all time favorites...and this is actually my second copy, as my first one got so beat up that I didn't want to use it in my yoga classes any more. Soul inspiration on the deepest level. And a wonderful practice to read a poem a day for the whole year.

If mystical inspiration from someone who appreciates every dimension of human existence is appealing, this writing as brought to us through Barks' translation will delight your innermost being. This daily companion will possibly become as welcome as a bird on your windowsill.

I bought this book of Rumi's poetry because I had read a novel where it was talked about all the time. I'm afraid that a lot of his poems totally escape me, but I shall continue to pursue an understanding of his work! Perhaps I just don't have enough intellectualism about me??

I was at my yoga studio when I found this book by the entry door, I purchased it and I now read from it just about everyday. I’m enjoying the words of rumi and the inspiring messages hidden between the verses.

I probably should have gotten the essential rumi. was looking for something to acquaint myself but some of these one pagers I'm not also grasping. perhaps a longer in context take would be easier to digest?

RICHARD A. WOLTERS was a leader in applying the scientific discoveries of animal behaviorists to dog training. His books on training—Game Dog, Water Dog, Gun Dog, Family Dog, and Home Dog—are recognized as classics in their fields. His historical book, The Labrador Retriever: The History...The People, was chosen as Best Dog Book of the Year by the Dog Writers Association of America. Our golden Atlas we started training at 7 weeks old and he is the best well behaved dog I have ever had! He also looks to me and my gestures for everything. He is now 3 years old and we are introducing a new female puppy next week that I cannot wait to begin training as we did with Atlas. Re freshing on this book with my husband and I’m reminded how wonderful and valuable it is! Please do your self a favor and buy this book— everyone who owns a dog should read this book, at the very minimum the puppy stages and forming training/working period for maximum potential. The animal/mans best friend loves to learn and train, I really believe they feel more involved and happy with the “pack” us humans with correct training.

This isn’t to brag (just meant to show the quality of the book), but my friends often say to me that my dog is better trained than any dog they have ever owned. I owe my thanks to this book!
