It's a good resource for someone who knows very little about the process, but it's also vague and generalized in many ways. Instead of simply saying "you should consult a lawyer" on specific issues, it'd be helpful if the author gave the facts, circumstances, and outcomes of at least a handful of cases to give us a better idea. The information is out there on the LexisNexis database. I'd go to the trouble of searching through there for case law myself - but I'm not an immigration attorney who is getting paid to write a book on the topic.It is also outdated, though the author is quick to point out that this is inevitable due to rapidly evolving laws. There seems to have been a big shift in immigration policy following the change in presidential administration, and since this book was published before that point, I'm not sure it's reliable. For example: Multiple friends of mine completed this process in 3 months before Trump was in office - now it takes about 9. USCIS is also stricter on certain aspects now than they used to be.Ultimately, I ended up paying $350 for a "simple" online service that actually is helpful, and I wish I would've done that from the beginning.

First of all, let me start by saying THANK YOU to everyone involved in this book, it has steered us away from candid mistakes that could lead to serious problems. Second, do not take anything written in this review as a legal advice, YMMV, I'm far from an expert on these matters.This book has saved us time, money and stress, and since our case was straightforward, we didn't need an attorney for it. However, YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY, even if you do need an immigration attorney, this book remains a sound source of vital and easily digestible information, there's even a section on how to deal with sleazy lawyers and after you get your green card.No book can keep up with the changing dynamics of the USCIS and this book is no exception.With that said, note that they EXPLICITLY say the forms in the book might be outdated from the time of publication, and that you MUST ALWAYS go check the USCIS site for the up-to-date forms. This reason is not a deal breaker, in our experience, we found little to none differences to such forms, and most, if not all, of the filling advice was accurate. Again, I cannot be hold responsible if any problems you encounter in your own case, I'm not an expert.When you send your packet, follow the instructions in the book and USCIS has a document on how to file the packet and it has a prefered way of sending and filing the packet. Once our interview came, the officer praised us for our packet filing style, and even though he didn't say it, we'd like to think that it made his job easier and our case timeline smoother.

It is an excellent source of information to guide you over your adjustment of status process. Just to add: While submitting your AOS package, attach all the evidence of your family relationship as you can, don't send just the filled forms. Highly recommended.

I bought this book in September. I started using the book and I found out the book is totally outdated. There is nothing current about this book. The forms are all different and the book can be use as a very generic information but it does not work as it states that you can use the book as a guide for your immigration application.

The book is helpful, but I think the checklist needs to be improved based on the scenarios provided in the book, and in the case of concurrent filing, there should be a more wholistic approach, instead of trying to piece together pieces of information from different chapters.

Very comprehensive and good help, but needs to beber updated. Imigration has changed its forms and the templates in the book are no longer the same used to apply.

Very thorough. Almost too much information! and my particular questions were only partly addressed. But still an important and useful guide.

As a hidden role/deduction board-gamer enthusiast, this is a great game. Here are my thoughts:* THEME: Excellent. You really feel as though you are in a zone on a spaceship trying to either escape from aliens or that you are a flesh-eating alien hunting your human prey...all in the dark. Makes for very intense gaming, keeping you on the edge of your seat like a horror movie...just awesome.* BALANCE: Sometimes in two-sided games the sides are not balanced. Not so here. I feel there is a great balance between the aliens and the humans. The card selection sometimes favors the humans, sometimes not, sometimes the aliens, sometimes not. Additionally, in even-numbered games, there is an equal amount of aliens and humans (3 to 8 players). If there is an odd number, you have one more alien than humans. This makes for an even-tensioned game throughout.* REPLAYABILITY: Excellent. There are 8 "zones" that you can play in on the spaceship, which is chosen by the group before play begins. Some of the zones have an open floor plan, some are more linear, some are bigger, some are smaller, etc. The instruction manual includes a description of each zone and a suggested amount of players for each zone. NOTE: The instruction MANUAL incorrectly matched a couple of the zone names with the wrong picture of the zone (specifically, I'm guessing that the pictures for the Fermi and Galvani zones in the instructional booklet should be reversed). It appears that the dry-erase BOOKLET has the CORRECT name and picture combination. Also, my copy came with only 7 books (there should be 8)...so check to see that you received all 8 books. I contacted Osprey and they are sending me the additional book...very good and quick customer service from England.Another bit to add here: You can play a "basic" game or an "advanced" game. The basic game disregards (i) items that are found on the spaceship and (ii) disregards character abilities for both humans and aliens. Of course, you can "house rule" this game and play with items, but not character abilities, or character abilities and not items, for an "intermediate" game. This adds another whole couple of layers of re-playabiltiy. Since there are more characters than players, and since character roles are drawn randomly, this also adds more excitement to each game.* COMPONENT QUALITY: In this "ultimate" edition, you have a book that works with dry-erase markers...much better then the prior version that included paper versions of the zones. The cards are just "ok." This is the one item where I feel there should be better quality. I sleeved my cards with the GREEN Fantasy Flight card sleeves for additional protection. After doing so, all fits in the box still, but snugly. After I receive my 8th dry-erase booklet (see above), I may need more room to fit my sleeved cards, at which point I'll tear down the cardboard compartments. I suppose this could be another small gripe (for all board game publishers)...please make your game boxes/containers large enough to accommodate sleeved cards. I'd rather not tear out the box's innards, but I'll do it to fit my sleeved cards.* FUN FACTOR: Very high. In the beginning, no one knows who is who. For those of you that get jazzed about hidden roles, this creates so much fun and laughter...trying to guess who is who.While I would describe this game as "2-sided," it is not necessarily "2-teamed," particularly for the humans. Here is why: There are 4 escape pods in the zone you are playing. There are 5 "escape pod cards" that are shuffled and placed face down on the table. When a human lands on an escape pod, which are numbered 1-4, that human announces that he has landed on "pod #___," then he draws an escape pod card. Four of these cards are green (you escape in that pod)...one is red (the pod malfunctioned). If a pod is used, now the other remaining humans have one less pod to use to escape (tons of fun, particularly when you escape as the first human and then other humans are like "Dang, only 3 pods left where 1 could be damaged.") All of the humans don't need to escape for the other escaped humans to win.Escape pods are unusable when (i) a human uses one to escape or (ii) a human draws the one red escape pod card. As a human, you already feel a huge amount of tension as you try to escape the zone in the dark. However, this tension increases as escape pods become unusable. If you play with 2 or 3 people (this game plays 2 to 8), there is only one human. Therefore, once you escape as a human, it's game over. While this is still a huge amount of fun, I really like the "extra" tension that humans feel when there are 2 or more humans (need 4 to 8 players) and another human successfully escapes the zone, leaving less pods available. Tons of fun.Additionally, aliens can kill each other (usually by accident). Therefore, humans and aliens are "kind of" on the same team, but "kind of not." This is a very interesting dynamic.* CONS: I already alluded to them above, but here they are at quick glance: Would have liked better card quality and a larger box to more comfortably fit sleeved cards.This game is full of tension, full of fun, and full of laughs.All in all, this is great game of hidden deduction and role-playing with strong edge-of-your-seat tension throughout. I recommend for family and game groups, particularly if you like hidden role/deduction games.PS: As of this review, there is one 3-star review for a "dirty" instructional book and a scuffed box. I would not let this review dissuade you from buying this game. First, the scuffed up box sounds like a shipping problem, which would not relate to the publisher of the game if not purchased through Osprey, and even if it was, a scuffed up box should not be, in my opinion, related to the game itself. At least rate the game on Amazon with the "stars" and have a separate star rating in the body of the review if the shipping negatively impacts you. Second, I saw that Joseph from Osprey responded to this reviewer and said he would gladly ship out a new instructional booklet. I happened to notice that this is the same fellow that helped me and he did so within 12 hours of being emailed. I also don't feel that dirty instructions should be combined in the rating that includes a rating on the actual gameplay.P.S.S. Since I'm seeing an explosion of reviews wrought with a conflict of interest and bias: I paid full price for this product. This is a REAL review, not a "Vine" review and I was NOT given this product at a discount "in exchange for an honest review" (really wish Amazon would prohibit such reviews).

This is great hidden Movement game!Having played several other hidden movement games (specter Ops, Fury of Drac, Scotland Yard) this game solves the biggest problem all those had, who gets to be the hidden person, because everyone is moving in secret! The game play is very simple so even our lighter gamers picked it up quickly and enjoyed it but there is still a lot of challenge and strategy in what you do so the “hardcore” players enjoy it. They have added several good mechanics in the job classes for each race and the random noise cards/Items that give the game some extra fun. The other big bonus of this game is that it plays up to 8 people. I can say that it scales very well between 5 or 8 people.The quality of the materials is also great, the dry erase maps clean off well and the pens still work after a dozen plays. The card stock is typical of games nowadays so if you know you are going to play a lot it would not hurt to get some card sleeves.They offer several Maps to play and some can be a lot more challenging but gives good variety for tons of repeat plays. The game time can vary based on play style and number of players but so far we have not had a game last an hour.Overall a great great game! Works for a large range of players, easy to pick up, and fun to play. This game is a go to pick on game nights for us now.If I had to put one thing negative on here it would be that it is a coop game so it is a shared victory most the time, but we house rule in the alien with the most kills wins and a tie is broken by a death match between the aliens.

LOVE THIS. My copy was perfectly clean when it arrived, unlike the other reviewer's copy. I took it straight to a game night where I taught seven others and we all had a fantastic time. I really like the little dry erase notebooks, the tense giggles around the table, and how easy it was for everyone to pick it up since they have all played Battleship before. I am incredibly happy that I purchased this.

They’re thick and soft and I want to hold them forever.The gameplay itself can be truly kick ass. It’s like Battleship if it were a group game. And mostly silent... but that’s not my point! My point is that the gameplay is wonderful. As long as you’re playing with the right people. This is a cat and mouse game. If you’re playing with someone that can’t bluff or just isn’t intuitive/strategic it doesn’t go over super well. Admittedly, I’m not the best at strategy games but I quickly figured my way past that. And if I can, so can you. So please, buy this amazing game! You will not regret it. Ever.

I played this game years ago before the Italian company that produced it stopped. Since they are now making the deluxe edition, I decided to pick it up. It has a few additions to the rules and the dry erase boards are nice, although the marker quality leaves a lot to be desired. All in all a pretty good game. It does suffer from some AP and if an alien gets killed early in the game they might as well go make food for everyone else because they could be stuck not playing for an hour.

Love this! Loved it so much that I bought it for my sister too! There are very few games that can be played in a chair after a nursing baby falls asleep on you, but this has been so nice! I missed playing games with my husband. This was so fun just the two of us and we look forward to playing with our babies and other family in the future! Great game!

I had spent the day in Taos and found the information in the book very informative. Yes, it is just a quick glance but would recommend it.

This is a great little book with much history of the tri-cultural impact on Taos. Obvious much research was done by the author to complete. Photos, some which have been rarely seen, help to tell the story.

This is a delightful little volume. Great research and wonderful old photos. Ms. Bleiler takes us on a trip to the by-gone days of this mystic-artistic community. She has captured the atmosphere and sense of place very well. If you've been to Taos, it's like visiting again. If you haven't, you'll feel you've been there after perusing this book.

Tastefully written about a place and a time when little girls were given away as brides to far away kingdoms and husbands and peoples they had never met, this book is poignantly beautiful . It reads more like a poem than prose. The simplicity of the vocabulary underlines the simple, hard truth about a glowing little princess child who must face her destiny while still so very young. That fact is repeated in the child's simple words: "I am a child with my hair yet cut across my forehead". Still wearing bangs, not old enough to sweep her hair up in exotic dos. The mystery of how she smuggled the secret of silk out of China ( a secret that had been kept for 5,000 years, and if revealed would mean certain death for the lawbreaker) becomes secondary to the heart and mind of the Red Butterfly.The artwork is as clearly delineated as the story. There is little that is extraneous here, which emphasizes that what you are viewing is elemental to the theme. The artist's work is carefully balanced in his frame, and the story is carefully balanced on the fulcrum of the child who is faced with the loss of all that she loves on the one hand and her sense of duty and destiny on the other.The reader and listener can sense the tension in the child who must obey, and accept with grace, the requirements of her royal station, and confine her emotions within. In her world emotions are never allowed to overwhelm. Love is second to duty. The artist has captured the seething emotions in the characters facial expressions, but it is accomplished with subtlety in the position of the eyes or the slight tilt of a chin.My granddaughters related completely with the child and understood her situation. They responded with sympathy and compassion. They readily understood that a child must do what a parent says. But they could not comprehend how the parents could send away a child they loved so much. This is a great book for children to gain understanding of a different time and a different world. It should be read with an adult to explain the different cultural values that required such personal sacrifice.

This is such a great book for children. It features a strong and sympathetic heroine, and also provides all kinds of opportunities to teach children, through pictures and poetry about other parts of the world, and historical periods. The words are wonderful, and the illustrations beautiful. We were given this book as a gift, and I've read it hundreds of times to my 5 yr old daughter. We loved it so much, we bought it for a baby shower gift for some very good friends of ours who had a baby girls.The story is that of a young princess in China who is preparing to be sent away to marry a wealthy and powerful prince. She smuggles silk out of China using an ingenious method - in order to take a little bit of home with her on her long journey.

Lovely story and incredible illustrations.Perfect for a preteen or anyone who enjoys cultural significance of having to leave home to go on to marriage.

Beautiful story with exquisit illustrations. My granddaughter loved it. The book was in excellent condition. I don't have anything else to say as this was a gift for my granddaughter who loves stories about China. THe book came in time for her birthday.

It is beautifully illustrated but the choice in how the story was told was just very odd for a children's book. I thought it was just me so I gave it to my husband to see what he thought. He thought the illustrations were fantastic but agreed with me on the story. We read it to the kids since they are the real judge...they both asked for us to put it down. Sorry, we were super excited to read this story because of the legend (which is fascinating) but the book was not for us.

Based on a Chinese folktale, "Red Butterfly" is a beautifully-illustrated story about a young Chinese princess who is getting ready to leave her beloved homeland in order to marry the King of Khotan, in Tibet. She is sad that she has to leave all that is dear and familiar to her, and decides that she will carry a living reminder of her native land, in the form of tiny silkworms. The young princess knows that it is an act strictly forbidden for China greatly prizes the secret of weaving silk and wants to keep it within China. Will the young princess succeed in carrying out her secret plan?When I chose this book for my daughter (I'm always looking for culturally diverse books for her), I was initially attracted by the lush and vivid illustrations, but as we read the story, both of us found this tale of a young princess forced to leave the comfort of home for an uncertain future engaging and yes, even sad. My little girl asked me at the end why the princes was sent off to a far away place without her parents, and I tried to explain it to her in a manner she would understand ( it is not easy explaining the strict norms of tradition back then in a culture where elders' decisions were not to be questioned). Older readers, aged 7 and up, would be better able to understand the finer nuances of this folktale. Recommended for multicultural collections at home and the school library.
